Beskrivelse
My name is Anabel Nájera-Lopez, I am an Mexican-American artist living in Aarhus. I enjoy working with different materials and techniques. While studying Fine Arts I experimented with many different mediums, such as ceramics, sculpture, painting and print making.
Over the years I have worked with several subject matters, with a focus on the human body, consciousness and their connection. I like making work that immediately creates a connection with the viewer, while leaving some aspects up for interpretation.
Currently I am working on a series of ceramic head sculptures which investigates calmness and hidden gazes. Looking at these faces, the spectator is invited to wonder what is happening on the inside. The series consists of ceramic heads in different sizes. Each sculpture is unika, with different textures and glazes.
Other than sculptures, I also make functional ceramics, such as plates, cups, vases and plant pots. Keep an eye out to see what I have been working on!
